You can read more about SHYU here, but in a nutshell we are amateur runners who couldn’t find a sock that complemented our race day fit… until now! We love running, we love running shoes, and now we will forever love running socks.
SHYU is a combination of ‘Shoe’ and ‘You’. We make socks for both.
Our ‘racing’ line is slightly lighter with less overt cushioning on the ankle compared to the ‘training’ line. The ‘racing’ SHYUs have been designed for you and inspired by your high performance racing shoe (think Alphafly, Adios Pro, Metaspeed), whereas the ‘training SHYUs are more neutral in colour, and can be worn with any of your daily training shoes. Both are made from our high-quality performance blend of 97% nylon, and 3% elastane, and share the same great features including non-slide construction, 360° arch support, anti-sweat ventilation and a seamless to prevent rubbing!
Yes and yes! Follow our Instagram for information on the latest colour drops. We started small, working with the shoes the founding team liked to wear at the time, but are certainly looking to add more colourways soon.
Our size guide can be found here and we recommend going with the size that you’d usually buy. We offer two or three sizes depending on the product, and find that the stretchiness and compression feature of SHYU socks makes them more accommodating to different sized feet.
The size guide is only a guide, and our SHYUs can be comfortably worn by people with slightly smaller feet than the ‘Small’, and slightly larger feet than the ‘Large’ (our founder falls into the latter category!).
We think our half crew cut is the perfect over-the-ankle height, sitting 5.5 inches from the ankle to give you the right amount of support whilst still showing off your style
Our no-show tab cut has all the same great features as the half crew, just less height. It sits on top of the ankle in line with the topline of your shoe, and has a visible tab complete with reflective logo at the back to make sure you stay seen on all your runs
To keep SHYUs looking their best:
Machine wash inside-out at 30°
Do not tumble dry
Do not use bleach
Do not use fabric softener
